The more i am visiting this city, the more i am loving it. Well, its another city, but not too far from my place. Its just 30+ mins walking (!) distance. This is my 5th visit. First two were for the toys shop, third was for the movie, fourth, yesterday i went the same place to click some snaps. Today i was just browsing the net for events around Redwood city and i came to know about these. It seems there are lots of events happens at the same place i.e. the Court House like Music, Dancing and Open Air Movies too. I felt so sad that i missed it. Here i am in my last week of USA stay, or should i say last few days and i came to know about it. But anyways, its never too late. I left office early, dropped the bag at hotel, picked the camera and handy-cam and i was on my way.
The show was fantastic. I watched it for a while and thought to return back, because i was very hungry and tired. But it was surely a good visit.
Today's dance show was "Hula" - instructed by "Spirit of Polynesia". They danced, and they taught the crowd how to dance. Music band was exciting. Checkout the pics, if you feel that few pictures are of the same person, then there is a equal reason for that :-)
Spirit of Polynesia has been in existence since 1979 when they performed their first modest shows under that name in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 1981, the Spirit of Polynesia was asked to perform in the month long "Festival Of Hawaii" at the famous "Tonga Room" in the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel, performing two shows per night, seven nights per week for one month.
This engagement pushed Spirit of Polynesia in the direction of producing large, multi-cultural and traditional Polynesian shows that mark its reputation today. In addition, their musicians and drummers have gained a reputation in competitions and performances worldwide.
I really liked the place around the theater i visited yesterday. So i left office early today, dropped the bag at hotel and was out with my camera to the Court Square to get some pictures. While returning back, i took a long-cut from the down-town of Redwood City. I really loved this place, just awesome.
